The Role at a glance:

• We are looking to add an experienced Part-Time Registered Dietitian to our healthcare team in Baton Rouge, LA. As a Part-Time Registered Dietitian with Cura Hospitality, you will have the opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of patients/residents, initiate interventions, and enhance quality of life in line with their goals.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing nutritional expertise to the healthcare team and educating patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborating with other departments on procedures, policies, and problem-solving related to dining and nutrition.
• Participating in quality improvement programs.

Day-to-Day:

• Conducting nutrition assessments for admissions, quarterly, annual, tube feedings, weight changes, wounds, and significant health changes.
• Providing nutrition education to residents as needed.
• Creating and updating care plans for residents.
• Completing MDS for Section K and CAAs.
• Using physical exams to identify malnutrition per ASPEN criteria.
• Participating in care conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Engaging in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
• Conducting kitchen inspections and meal service audits.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field (prior to 2025).
• Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.
• Passed a national exam by the CDR or meets eligibility requirements.
• 75 hours of continuing education every five years.
• Licensed or certified per state regulations.
• Knowledge of assessment standards, care planning, and residents' rights.
• Ability to teach nutrition and dietetics.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience in healthcare or long-term care.
