Cary Memorial Library in Lexington, Massachusetts, seeks a part-time Reference Librarian for the Adult Services Department. The role focuses on reference assistance, readers' advisory, and helping patrons with equipment and software, with occasional desk substitutions.

The ideal candidate holds an MLS from an ALA-accredited program, has public library reference experience, and can engage patrons of all ages.

Qualifications

• MLS degree from an ALA-accredited institution.
• Experience in reference service in a public library.
• Knowledge of computers and automated library systems; ability to engage patrons of all ages.

Responsabilités

• Answer reference/research questions at the Main Adult Services Desk.
• Provide readers' advisory and assist with library programs.
• Instruct patrons on use of equipment and software; assist with circulation tasks.
• Occasional substitute opportunities at all service desks including Reference, Children's and Teen.
