Job summary

YMCA of the Roses in Lancaster is seeking a part-time Red Cross Instructor to lead American Red Cross courses and build essential safety skills in participants of all ages.

Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, you will demonstrate lifesaving techniques, supervise class activities, and maintain a safe, welcoming learning environment while upholding the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Active American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI), CPR PRO Instructor and Oxygen Instructor certifications.
• Ability to work well with people and maintain a positive attitude.
• Complete the following within 1 month of hire: Required Aquatics Y Trainings, Praesidium Trainings completed, AmTrust Trainings.

Responsibilities

• Instructs Red Cross courses to standards and supervises all class participants.
• Demonstrates lifesaving techniques and maintains a safe learning environment.
• Observes participants and provides feedback and corrections as instructed.
• Maintains attendance records and ensures proper documentation.
• Coordinates with other instructors to deliver classes across the association.
