Job summary

Coast Guard Exchange (USCGCSC) in Buzzards Bay, MA, is seeking a Recreation Aid to support a variety of MWR activities at the Cape Cod Golf Course. The position offers an intermittent schedule (0-19 hours/week) with pay of $15.00 per hour and opportunities to assist with youth and community recreation programs.

Responsibilities include guiding patrons, handling equipment, basic cash handling, and ensuring safety and orderly operation of facilities.

Qualifications

• Skill to learn USCG MWR policies, rules and regulations involving the area, and ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics
• The incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
• Experience in the performance of duties similar to the above.
• Six months experience in the assigned recreational activity is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recreational activities and programs (military recreation center, youth, outdoor, crafts, athletics, music/theatre).
• Provide information on facilities, equipment use, and safety procedures.
• Issue tools, equipment and games to patrons and handle payments when appropriate.
• Check inventories, assist in directing patrons, and help maintain cleanliness and order.
• Monitor premises security and assist in routine reports or maintenance tasks.
