Job summary

OHEL Children's Home and Family Services in Brooklyn, NY, is seeking a Certified Peer Recovery Advocate to provide person-centered planning and delivery of services at our Licensed Outpatient Mental Health Clinic.

The Peer Specialist draws on lived experience, mentoring individuals with mental health and substance use disorders through skills-building and recovery-focused support, using trauma-informed, non-clinical approaches to promote long-term recovery.

Qualifications

• Trauma-informed care and recovery knowledge in SUD and mental health.
• Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and WRAP.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• CRPA certification by OASAS with two years of behavioral health experience.
• Part-time, Brooklyn-based with occasional Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face services connecting individuals to recovery supports per treatment plan.
• Maintain accurate records per program policies.
• Demonstrate communication and organizational skills for interactions with team, clients, families and community.
