Martinsburg-Berkeley County Parks & Recreation is seeking a Rec Activities Assistant to support events and athletic programs in Martinsburg and Berkeley County. Responsibilities include scoring during basketball, volleyball, and futsal, and assisting with community events.

The position requires a candidate at least 16 years old working toward a HS diploma or GED, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifikationen

• Must be at least 16 years old and working toward High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
• Team player who works well in team setting and individually.
• Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Aufgaben

• Operate the scoreboard and manage the official game time and score.
• Keep statistics accurate on player performance during the game.
• Record the score in both electronic and paper formats depending on the event requirements.
• Track playing time for all players, depending on the event requirement.
• Work closely with game officials to ensure rules are followed and the contest remains fair.
• Maintain official team rosters and verify player eligibility, including checking suspension lists prior to the game.
• Set up and inspect scoring equipment before the event.
• Identify and report any maintenance or safety issues to supervisory staff for prompt resolution.
• Use effective oral communication and problem-solving skills in fast-paced game environments.
• Clearly communicate with referees, coaches, and event staff to support the smooth operation of each game.
• Community Events: Working with other coordinators during community events such as June Jubilee, Movie nights and Special events.
• Perform other related duties as required.
