Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools is seeking a part-time tutor for a Temporary Work Assignment at 16 hours per week for 35 weeks. You will align support with the Virginia Standards of Learning, collaborate with the lead teacher, review topics, support differentiation, provide feedback, and help students improve academic performance.

Bachelor’s degree or teaching license preferred. Background checks required. Compensation is $35.76 per hour with benefits offered to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of academic skills and tutoring ability.
• Ability to supervise and support students and communicate effectively with staff.
• Experience in tutoring or teaching is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Align direct support with the Virginia Standards of Learning.
• Collaborate with lead-teacher to develop support model.
• Review curriculum topics and assignments.
• Support differentiation strategies (station activities/ small groups).
• Provide feedback on student progress to lead-teacher.
• Teach study strategies and note-taking skills to students.
• Identify areas for improvement and help set mastery goals.
• Provide students with positive and constructive feedback.
