Job summary

Quabbin Regional School District is seeking a part-time Reading Specialist at Quabbin Regional High School/Barre campuses to provide direct reading instruction and evidence-based interventions. The role involves small-group and individual sessions, progress monitoring, and collaboration with IEP teams.

Requirements include MA DESE licensure, experience with diverse learners and multisensory reading programs.

Qualifications

Appropriate Massachusetts DESE licensure is required.
Knowledge of evidence-based reading instruction and practices.
Experience providing targeted reading instruction to students with diverse learning needs.
Experience with specialized reading programs preferred.
Knowledgeable about Massachusetts Frameworks and Common Core State Standards.
Experience working with students with disabilities.
Experience with multisensory approaches to teaching reading—certification preferred.
Ex.- Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Lindamood Bell programs.
At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
Bachelor degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direct reading instruction to students individually and in small groups.
Deliver evidence-based, structured literacy interventions based on student need.
Provide consultation for IEP Teams and/or specialized instruction.
Assess and monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Write IEP goals/objectives, progress reports.
Actively participate in IEP meetings.
