Job summary

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln seeks a Reading Teacher Coach Specialist (Part Time) to support the WORDS project. The role involves travel to Chadron and western Nebraska and includes work from a home office as needed.

Responsibilities include observing reading instruction, providing consultation and professional development, and delivering on-site support to districts. The position supports rural schools with high-quality reading instruction strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, child development or related field, plus 3 years in a school district.
• Strong independent problem-solving and excellent communication and customer service.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, able to use MS Word, databases, and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an active member of the WORDS project.
• Conduct reading observations and evaluate reading instruction in schools across the state.
• Provide consultation, training, and on-site implementation support services to school districts.
• Provide reading professional development opportunities for school district and ESU staff and community professionals.
• Work in close collaboration with the Reading Teacher Coach Lead to ensure WORDS activities align with project goals.
• Maintain the WORDS Resource Library with current publications related to the field.
