Township High School District 214 Community Education Foundation is seeking a compassionate and organized Program Assistant to support the Read to Learn Adult Literacy Program at Forest View Educational Center. This part-time role involves handling learner registration, coordinating volunteers, preparing materials, and supporting daily operations to connect adult learners with tutors.

The position offers daytime hours Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and Saturdays based on program

Qualifications

• Some college preferred, ideally AA in Early Childhood Education.
• High School Diploma or equivalent minimum.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
• Data entry skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• 2 years’ experience in an administrative/office role.
• The ideal candidate will be self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, able to work collaboratively with others in a team environment, and able to handle multiple priorities/deadlines.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Respond to volunteer tutor and adult learner inquiries via telephone, email, website, and Literacy Hotline in a timely manner.
• Assist with preparations for tutor training workshops and Site Supervisor meetings, including refreshments and supplies.
• Prepare calendars, lists, schedules, and materials for adult learner registration and site openings/closings.
• Assist site supervisors with adult learner registration and testing.
• Coordinate twice‑yearly email to volunteer tutors and adult learners.
• Maintain supply of RTL flyers and office materials.
• Order printed materials from internal printing services.
• Enter RSVP monthly hours online.
• Maintain office equipment and handle mail distribution and general forms.
