PART-TIME RADIO OPERATIONS AND PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position fills-in on KERA News, KXT, and WRR performing board operation/hosting duties, does studio announcing work as needed, and assists in general station production across radio platforms.

This position is classified as FLSA non-exempt, is eligible for overtime, and reports to the Senior Director of Radio Operations. The role will not exceed 20-25 hours per week on average.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Host / fill-in on KXT, KERA-FM, and WRR (weekdays or weekends) live or voice-tracked, as assigned
  • Record and produces imaging, underwriting, and other programmatic elements as assigned.
  • Help acquire and load into playout system KXT and WRR music, preparing files for air, inserting cues and seques
  • Participate in, or assist with on-air fund drives on KXT, KERA-FM, and WRR to ensure successful results
  • Acts as an appearance or stage announcer, as needed
  • Additional radio operational, programming, or studio assistance, as needed
  • Assist with the recording/editing/mixing of the KXT Live Session series and other studio and field recordings
  • Voice work across platforms as needed

  • Knowledge of ENCO and/or Wheatstone systems

SALARY RANGE

$25-28 per hour, depending on experience

LOCATION:

We support a hybrid working environment at KERA. We expect that this position will work out of our Dallas office at Fair Park at least 80% of the time.
