Job Summary

Performs radiographic and CT procedures at a technical and professional level not requiring constant supervision. The radiographer/CT technologist must assume responsibility, exercising independent judgment, initiative, and ingenuity to ensure quality images and pertinent information for diagnosis by the interpreting physician.

Minimum Qualifications
Education, Certification, and/or Licensure
  • For West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland locations:
    • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the NMTCB.
    • Radiologic Technologist certification through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board of Examiners, or applicable state.
    • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
  • For Pennsylvania locations:
    • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the NMTCB.
    • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CT Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Two years of experience in Radiology or CT.
Core Duties and Responsibilities

Participates in documentation and evaluation of clinical performance of student radiographers. Performs daily QA procedures on all equipment. Completes appropriate documentation for procedures. Employs safety techniques. Utilizes communication devices. Performs IV insertion/blood draw. Conducts diagnostic X-ray and CT exams as ordered. Assists radiologists with interventional procedures. Administers contrast media. Utilizes imaging workstations and PACS. Performs equipment operations and maintains proficiency. Performs IV insertions and blood draws, including creatinine testing.

Physical Requirements

Requires frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and feeling. Ability to lift and move patients of all weights. Normal hearing and visual acuity. Ability to read and write in English.

Working Environment

Exposure to body fluids, tissues, contagious diseases, sharps, gases, cleaning agents, and radiation. High-stress environment with interruptions.

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to perform complex mental activities in technical situations. Capable of working under stress and adapting to workloads. Makes independent judgments and collaborates with team members. Understands instructions and procedures. Good reading, comprehension, and basic math skills. Willing to work weekends, holidays, and all shifts.
