Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a QC Lab Technologist to perform basic through advanced testing on blood products and to prepare pathogen-reduced platelet products for hospitals. The role emphasizes attention to detail, teamwork, and a compassionate approach to internal and external customers.

This part-time position offers a 24-hour weekly schedule with swing shifts (Fri-Sun, Mon 17:00-23:00) and paid training.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in science or a bachelor's degree in an applied science.
• Experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environment or equivalent.
• Ability to use a wide variety of lab equipment and applicable software.
• Ability to work on a team and contribute to a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate complexity laboratory testing procedures and interpret results on donor specimens and blood products.
• Identify and quarantine products/samples that don’t meet quality requirements.
• Meet the quality and quantity production and testing goals established by the department.
• Ensure products are suitable for release for distribution.
• Prioritize workload to meet production and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory locations for products/samples and assist in troubleshooting.
