Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a QC Lab Technologist for night shift duties in a blood products environment. You will perform basic through advanced manufacturing, processing, and test procedures, interpreting results before releasing products to hospitals.

You’ll handle pathogen-reduced platelet products and ensure compliance in a highly regulated setting. Ideal candidates hold an associate's degree in science or a related field, possess regulatory experience, and can work collaboratively in

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in science, or bachelor’s degree in an applied science.
• Regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Must meet state and CLIA requirements where applicable.
• Ability to operate a wide range of lab equipment and software.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Physical requirements: standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, exposure to blood and other products.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate to advanced laboratory testing procedures on donor specimens and blood products.
• Identify and quarantine products/samples that don’t meet quality requirements.
• Meet quality and production goals established by the department.
• Ensure products are suitable for release for distribution.
• Prioritize workload to meet production and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory locations for products/samples.
• Participate in troubleshooting with cross-functional teams.
