Job summary

The Newmarket Police Department in New Hampshire is seeking Public Safety Dispatcher candidates for current or anticipated vacancies. The Communications Division handles 24-hour emergency dispatch for Newmarket Police, Fire and EMS, and nearby departments.

Responsibilities include answering 911 calls, dispatching responders via CAD, maintaining radio/phone links, performing SPOTS/NCIC checks, monitoring alarms, and completing extensive background checks including a polygraph.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Complete interview, extensive background investigation and polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Receive emergency calls from the public and E-911 and dispatch units via computer-aided dispatch (CAD).
• Maintain continuous two-way radio and/or telephone communication between Dispatch Center and officers/department personnel.
• Perform criminal record, license, and motor vehicle checks (SPOTS/NCIC) and enter stolen property, missing and wanted persons into NCIC.
• Monitor fire/burglar alarms and security cameras.
• Training hours up to 32 hours per week.

The Newmarket, New Hampshire Police Department is actively seeking Public Safety Dispatcher candidates interested in a challenging career to fill current or anticipated vacancies.

The Communications Division provides 24-hour emergency dispatch communications for Newmarket Police, Fire and EMS, and the Newfields Police, Fire and EMS.

Duties Include, but not limited to:

• Receive emergency calls from the public and E-911. Dispatch appropriate fire, ambulance or police using computer-aided dispatch
• Maintains continuous two-way radio and/or telephone communication between Dispatch Center and officers/department personnel
• Performs criminal record, license, motor vehicle registration record through SPOTS and NCIC checks; enters stolen property, missing and wanted persons into NCIC other duties as assigned
• Monitor fire/burglar alarms and security cameras
• Training hours up to 32 hours a week!
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s license
• Must be 18 years of age
• Candidates must successfully complete a formal interview, extensive background investigation and polygraph examination.
