Job summary

California State University, East Bay invites applications for a pool of part-time lecturers in the Department of Public Health. Positions may be filled for Fall 2026 and/or Spring 2027 at various university locations, including Hayward, Concord Center, and online.

The Department seeks instructors in health humanities, disparities and equity, bioethics, health law, economics, regulation, payment systems, and data management.

Qualifications

• A doctoral-level degree, e.g., PhD, DrPH,MD, JD, or proof of candidacy for a doctorate is required; applicants with a Master’s Degree with accompanying certification and/or work experience will be considered.
• Candidates with experience teaching within a population perspective through a lens of social determinants are desired.
• The Department prefers applicants with teaching experience at the college/university level.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in health/medical humanities and related areas; health disparities/health equity, bioethics, health law, health economics, health regulation, healthcare payment systems, and health data & information management.
• Duties may include curriculum development, service, and assignment across multiple CSU East Bay campuses.
