Job summary

The Thacher School in Ojai, California seeks a part-time experienced psychology teacher for a long-term substitute from mid-December 2026 through March 8, 2027. Candidates available in person by January 5, 2027 will also be considered.

The position requires teaching 2-3 sections of honors psychology and supporting students through assessments and grades. Responsibilities include delivering content from established curricula, providing extra help, and potentially taking on residential program

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent required in psychology or a related field.
• Ideal candidate should have successful experience teaching at the high school level.

Responsibilities

• Teach 2-3 sections of honors psychology using established lesson plans, delivering and adapting content for continuity of learning.
• Fulfill responsibilities of a classroom teacher, including regular extra help sessions, timely feedback, and grading (midterm and trimester).
• Possible additional duties in our residential program depending on candidate’s experience and interests.
