Job summary

Hawthorne Health is seeking a Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to serve as Principal Investigator in a part-time, 1099 capacity within our growing community-based clinical research network in Florida.

You will lead sponsor-initiated psychiatric trials, oversee the clinical research team, ensure GCP and regulatory compliance, and contribute to patient-centered trials that expand access to innovative treatments.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted medical license.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Psychiatry.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines, FDA regulations and regulatory requirements for clinical research.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.
• Ability to manage multiple complex studies and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of sponsor-initiated psychiatric trials at the site.
• Lead and supervise sub-investigators, study coordinators, and site staff.
• Ensure adherence to study protocol, GCP, ICH guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Delegate duties and provide training and oversight to the team.
• Conduct remote reviews of patient assessments and determine eligibility.
• Review laboratory results, ECGs, and other diagnostics.
• Make critical medical decisions regarding participant care and safety.
• Ensure complete and timely data collection and documentation.
• Communicate with sponsors, CROs, IRBs, and regulators.
• Maintain IP accountability, storage, and administration as per protocol.
• Participate in site initiation, monitoring visits, audits, and inspections.
• Stay current with clinical research advances in psychiatry.
