Right At School is seeking a Program Manager in Ohio to oversee before/after school programs. The role requires coordinating staff, ensuring safety and licensing compliance, and maintaining attendance records across multiple sites.
The position offers a split schedule (06:15–09:00 and 15:15–18:00), up to 25 hours weekly, with a pay rate of $19.00–$24.00 per hour based on education and experience.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in child development or related field from a DCY-approved program.
- Four college courses in Child Development or Early Childhood Education plus two years of related experience.
- CDA credential with two years of related experience.
- Prekindergarten associate license from Ohio DEW.
- Montessori credential issued by MACTE.
- Career Pathways Level 3 credential.
- CPL 2 with two years of licensed childcare experience.
- CPL 1 with CPL upgrade plan within 12 months and two years in the field.
- Ohio school-age administrator endorsement if serving only school-age children.
- Ohio administrator credential as approved by DCY.
Responsibilities
- Drive program safety and joy by modeling professional behavior and maintaining site policies.
- Ensure safety protocols and attendance procedures are followed; supervise staff and coaching.
- Communicate with families, partners and staff; respond to inquiries during program hours.
- Maintain accurate student check-in/out records and compliant daily routines.
- Execute daily activities, fitness, and curriculum to provide engaging experiences.

- Schedule: Monday-Friday, split shift
- Morning shift: 06:45 AM-09:00 AM
- Afternoon shift: 03:15 PM-06:00 PM
- This role may be scheduled for up to 25 hours per week. Your schedule may vary based on business needs.
- You will have a "home base" location but can be asked to go to different schools within the district.
- Safety & Joy: Exhibits role model qualities ensuring safety and joy standards are met by supporting a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities to a team of staff members. Supports operational efficiency by keeping site documents and licensing standards up to date. Outlines attendance protocols, behavior policies, safety procedures, and ensures program tasks are completed effectively. Continual coaching, fostering respectful relationships among staff to address any challenges or issues promptly to maintain team cohesion, and productivity.
- Safety Assurance: Consistently support and report on safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all participants.
- Effective Communication: Engage meaningfully with families, client partners, peers, and children to support effective communication and relationship building. Respond promptly to emails, text messages, and inquiries during program hours to ensure transparency and trust. Communicate and collaborate regularly with the Area Manager to support outlined program goals and assist in implementing changes or processes as guided.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records for student check-ins and check-outs. Ensure “name to face” attendance procedures are completed per company policy.
- Daily Routine: Implement daily activities, fitness fun, and curriculum while providing a safe and engaging environment.
- Experience with working amongst competing priorities and delivering quality service to all stakeholders
- Experience working with children and knowledge of unique and special needs
- Coursework or training in child development and/or related field
- Communication skills; oral, written, and visual with adults and children
- Ability to model professional standards when dealing with students, parents, staff, and community
- Familiarity with Google technology software or willingness to learn
- Identify and submit proof of MMR
- Candidates must meet all applicable Ohio licensing and employment requirements, including:
- Ability to meet all state-specific requirements for school- age child care programs.
- Ability to pass required background checks and maintain compliance with DCY regulations.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (in-person) or ability to obtain.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a completed JFS 01296 Medical Statement of Child Care Staff, including documentation of clear TB screening and immunization status (including MMR), as required by DCY.
- High school diploma or GED required
and one of the following qualifications from an accredited college, university, or technical college approved by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth (DCY):
- Minimum of an associate degree in child development, early childhood education or related field approved by the Ohio department of children and youth (DCY). Must be from an accredited college, university, or technical college.
- Four college-level courses in Child Development or Early Childhood Education and Two years of experience working in the early care and education field.
- A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition and Two years of experience working in the early care and education field.
- A minimum of a current prekindergarten associate license issued by the Ohio department of education and workforce (DEW).
- A current infant and toddler or early childhood credential from a program accredited by the Montessori accreditation council for teacher education.
- Career Pathways Level 3 credential
- CPL 2 with 2 years of experience working in licensed childcare and Two years of experience working in the early care and education field.
- CPL 1 with with 2 years of experience in licensed childcare & the ability to achieve CPL level 2 within 12 months of hire and Two years of experience working in the early care and education field.
- A current Ohio school-age administrator professional endorsement (if serving only school-age children).
- A current Ohio administrator credential as approved by DCY.
