Iona University in New Rochelle, NY seeks a Part-time Program Counselor for the Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP). The role provides non-clinical counseling, mentoring, and SEL development to Yonkers School District students, helping them build self-advocacy, organization, and college readiness.

The counselor will deliver individual and small-group sessions, coordinate activities, and track participation while collaborating with school staff to support student goals and engagement.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field required.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to facilitate groups.

Responsabilidades

• Provide academic support, mentoring, and study skills development to students.
• Facilitate small group sessions focused on social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, and goal setting.
• Support students in developing organization, time management, and self-advocacy skills.
• Conduct outreach and recruit students for participation in the program.
• Introduce students to college and career pathways through workshops and enrichment activities.
• Track attendance and program events.
• Coordinate logistics for trips, workshops, and enrichment activities.
• Present program information to students, families, and school staff.
• Attend occasional evenings such as parent-teacher nights and college admission events.
