Job summary

Hub Labels is seeking a Part-Time Production Assistant in Hagerstown, MD. This temporary role supports production by assisting press and converting operators, catching and boxing items, and preparing products for shipment.

Flexible hours across 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts are available to help maintain smooth production flow. Responsibilities include loading materials, monitoring output, and assisting with Direct Mail processes, while ensuring proper documentation and safe, organized work areas.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers using American currency, weight, volume and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out simple one- and two-step instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist press and converting operators to keep production running smoothly, including catching finished jobs, boxing, packaging, and staging per work orders.
• Support folder and fan-folder machine operations, including loading materials, removing finished product, and monitoring output.
• Understand and assist with Direct Mail fan-folded forms and related production processes.
• Package, label, and prepare finished product for customer presentation and shipment.
• Manage retains and ensure proper documentation and storage per procedures.
• Perform make-ready duties to support efficient press and converting changeovers.
• Log job locations and track job movement in the computer system as required.
• Move jobs between press-side, converting, and shipping areas; replace skids as needed.
• Assist in supplying machines with materials from warehouse or storage areas.
• Communicate professionally with operators and supervisors to coordinate workflow.

Job Summary: The Part Time Production Assistant is a temporary role responsible for assisting production in folder jobs, catching and boxing items off press, and any other task needed to ensure that production runs smoothly. This position can be flexible with hours across 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Duties / Responsibilities

• Assists press and converting operators to keep production running smoothly, including catching finished jobs, boxing, packaging, and staging product per work orders.
• Supports folder and fan-folder machine operations, including loading materials, removing finished product, and monitoring output.
• Understands and assists with Direct Mail fan-folded forms and related production processes.
• Packages, labels, and prepares finished product for customer presentation and shipment.
• Manages retains and ensures proper documentation and storage per company procedures.
• Performs make-ready duties as assigned to support efficient press and converting changeovers.
• Logs job locations and tracks job movement in the computer system as required.
• Moves jobs between press-side, converting, and shipping areas as needed, including replacing skids when required.
• Assists in supplying machines with materials such as boxes, cores, tape, and other production supplies from warehouse or storage areas.
• Communicates professionally and effectively with Press Operators, Supervisors, and other employees to coordinate workflow and resolve issues.
• Assists the shipping department as needed to support production and delivery schedules.
• Performs cleaning duties on work areas, machines, and equipment to maintain a safe and organized production environment.
• Reads and follows work orders, written instructions, and verbal direction to ensure accurate job execution.
• Participates in all HOP programs, safety initiatives, and company events as required.
• Adheres to all Hub Labels safety rules and regulations, including wearing steel-toed shoes and required PPE.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or management.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk and hear.

The employee is frequently required to walk and stand for extended periods.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and will occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.

The work environment is that of a manufacturing facility. Conditions change as the outdoor climate changes. There are moderate exposures to heat and cold, as well as exposure to moderate noise levels, moving equipment, and other general manufacturing hazards.
