Job description

NFL Media is seeking a versatile Producer/Writer with extensive knowledge of the NFL and advanced skills in copywriting for broadcast media. The Producer/Writer is responsible for researching, writing scripts and occasionally editing long-form deliverables for NFL platforms, with an emphasis on YouTube. This role will contribute to the “NFL Throwback” year-round content stream.

Responsibilities

  • “NFL Throwback” is the official history channel of the National Football League, showcasing the greatest games, iconic career highlights and “deep dives” into the most captivating moments in history.
  • The Producer/Writer plays a key role in delivering best-in-class storytelling through heavy research, script-writing and overall collaboration with editors.
  • Responsible for taking complex stories and concisely telling them to our fans.
  • Taking a passion for NFL history, the producer/writer will help develop ideas for long-form video content across the media group.
  • Manage multiple projects at once, including writing scripts, footage acquisition and research.
  • Ensures timelines are met with quality output and delivering final assets through CMS.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, broadcast media, web production or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience writing scripts for broadcast and/or voice over.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in production environment working with digital and social platforms.
  • Thorough knowledge of the National Football League, and NFL history.

Salary / Pay Range

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • Part-time - 29 hours or less per week
  • Monday-Friday work week, with occasional weekends and holidays.
  • This position is based out of the NFL LA-Inglewood office.
