Penn State Campus Recreation seeks an experienced PRN Athletic Trainer to join our team for Club Sports event coverage. The role focuses on athlete safety, first response, and collaboration with the Athletic Trainer and coaches, with work primarily in evenings and weekends.
Qualified candidates hold a bachelor's degree in athletic training, BOC certification, and PA licensure, plus CPR/AED; master’s degree preferred. This is a part-time position involving campus events across Pennsylvania.

Under the supervision and direction of the Athletic Trainer for Campus Recreation, PRN Athletic Trainers will serve on a team responsible for supporting the Club Sports Program with game and event coverage.
This part‑time position is ideal for certified athletic trainers who are passionate about athlete safety and care in a dynamic university environment. Work hours are primarily evenings and weekends, based on competition and event schedules.
A bachelor's degree in athletic training or related field, plus one year of athletic training experience is required. A master’s degree in athletic training or related field is preferred. BOC certification is required. Individual must be a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Pennsylvania. CPR/AED certification for Healthcare Providers is required. Individual must have evening and weekend availability.

This position requires physical activity and the ability to stand for extended periods during sporting events. Athletic Trainers must be able to respond promptly in emergency situations and provide care in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Campus Recreation is a department within the Division of Student Affairs that provides recreation and wellbeing programs to the campus community through operation and administration of the following: Intramural Building, McCoy Natatorium, Stone Valley Recreation Area, Tennis Center, White Building, Hepper Fitness Center, Aquatics, Athletic Training, Club Sports, Fitness and Wellbeing, Intramural Sports, and Outdoor Adventures. Campus Recreation is comprised of 48 full‑time staff and more than 700 student staff members.
This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
