Job summary

The University of Chicago is seeking a Physician to work in the Student Wellness Center as a primary and urgent care provider. Reporting to the Medical Director, you will deliver holistic, evidence‑based care to students and their dependents, with a schedule of about 20 hours per week in a 0.5 FTE role.

You will perform routine medical assessments, manage treatment plans, and document in the EHR while collaborating with health professionals to ensure high‑quality patient care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Illinois license (preferred) and board eligibility
• 2–5 years of related primary/urgent care experience
• Experience serving college-age populations and coordinating with other health professionals

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary and urgent care to students
• Perform minor surgical procedures (e.g., suturing, incision and drainage)
• Maintain accurate and timely EHR documentation
• Coordinate care with external healthcare providers to support continuity of care
• Contribute to quality improvement, patient education, and departmental initiatives
