Job summary

Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Lancaster, PA seeks a Preschool Classroom Aide to support teachers with activities, supervision, and material distribution. Part-time role assisting with classroom routines and student needs.

You will assist with tutoring, monitoring during activities and field trips, and help ensure safety while supporting students with diverse needs. Reports to the principal.

Qualifications

• Minimum GED or high school diploma.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to explain educational materials to children.
• Knowledge of how to follow teacher instructions.

Responsibilities

• Discuss assigned duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
• Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Supervise students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, school yards, gymnasiums, and on field trips.
• Distribute textbooks, workbooks, papers, and pencils to students.
• Distribute tests and homework and collect them when completed.
• Enforce school policies and rules governing students.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment to prevent injuries.
• Observe students' performance and record progress data.
• Organize and label materials, and display students' work appropriately.
• Organize and supervise games and recreational activities for development.
• Provide extra assistance to students with special needs or language barriers.
• Assist in bus loading/unloading and in school libraries.
• Collect money from students for school-related projects.
