Job summary

Aspire Early Learning Academy in Lexington is seeking a part-time Preschool Teacher to join our Lexington Academy. The role offers 4 to 6 hours per day, ideal for students or caregivers seeking flexible hours.

You will create engaging, age-appropriate activities and support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. The position requires understanding of early childhood education, strong communication, and the ability to work as part of a small teaching team.

Qualifications

• Understanding of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
• Familiarity with health, safety, sanitation, and classroom supervision guidelines.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and instructional skills.
• Ability to positively guide children's behavior and appropriately mediate conflicts.
• Patient, friendly, dependable, professional, and even-tempered.
• Creative and enthusiastic about working with young children.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Successful completion of required Central Registry, SLED, and FBI background checks.
• Completion of ECD 101 or willingness to complete the course within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences using a variety of teaching techniques.
• Observe each child and support development of social skills, independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
• Encourage positive interactions and healthy relationships among children.
• Support artistic, creative, academic, and practical development through age-appropriate activities.
• Follow classroom schedule, supervise children for safety and well-being.
• Follow curriculum and lesson plans provided by Aspire Early Learning Academy.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom consistent with health and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate with co-workers and administration.
• Follow policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Work effectively as part of a small teaching team.
• Create a nurturing classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn.
