Job summary

Lifesteps is immediately hiring a Part-Time Teacher Assistant for the Preschool program in Kittanning, PA. The position runs Monday through Friday, 9 am to 2:30 pm, supporting children ages 3–5 in a caring classroom.

Qualified applicants will hold an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (or related major); a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Must lift up to 40 lbs and obtain all required PA/FBI clearances; strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related major (listed in requirements).
• Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds.
• PA Criminal clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI DHS clearance.
• Able to multi-task and work in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to complete basic computer tasks.
• Possess strong communications skills (verbal and written).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred).
• Experience as child care assistant or paraprofessional (helpful).

Responsibilities

• Care and supervision of children ages 3 to 5.
• Assist with lesson planning and create activities.
• Inform parents about the child’s day.
• Clean and organize the preschool room, toys, and equipment.
• Participate in quality initiatives (e.g., Keystone Stars).
