• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm or 1:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Job Summary

The Teacher Assistant supports the Head Teacher in creating a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for children at YWCA Early Learning Centers. Responsibilities include assisting with activities, maintaining safety standards, supporting curriculum development, and communicating with parents.

Essential Duties

1. Assist in planning and delivering classroom and outdoor activities.
2. Maintain a safe, healthy, and inviting environment.
3. Follow safety protocols and report suspected child abuse or neglect.
4. Support curriculum implementation tailored to each child's needs.
5. Participate in supporting student activities, record-keeping, and maintaining cleanliness.
6. Communicate effectively with parents and maintain confidentiality.
7. Assist with assessments and classroom behavior management.
8. Participate in professional development, including training on racial justice and women's empowerment.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 18 years or older.
• Basic knowledge of Child Development principles.
• Some childcare experience.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or within two months of hire).
