Position Overview: 0.5 Preschool teacher in a co-taught classroom, teaching 3-year-old and 4-year-old half-day morning preschool. The candidate will be responsible for all assigned lead preschool teacher duties including the creation of a learner-centered environment, the implementation of designated Early Childhood curriculum, designing innovative hands-on activities with clear learning targets, assessment of student progress, management of the classroom, parent communication, and collaboration with other district staff.

Qualifications

• Current teaching license required, preferably in Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 3), Pre-Primary (Age 3-Pre-K) or Pre-kindergarten (Pre-K)
• Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Exhibits a strong understanding of child development & knowledge of the ECIPs
• Ability to use current, effective early childhood instruction and authentic assessment methods
• Ability to build positive relationships with students that result in high levels of student engagement in learning
• Previous experience teaching preschool
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
• Firm belief and practice in positive behavior management
