Job summary

Acelero Learning, Inc. is seeking a Substit​ute Preschool Teacher in Philadelphia, PA for a Head Start classroom serving 3- to 4-year-olds.

The role is part-time and as-needed across multiple locations, with a 14–20 child class and collaboration with another teacher. You will follow the curriculum, support literacy and numeracy development, maintain safety and supervision, and engage families to promote student readiness for school.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Physical exam and background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Follows the curriculum as scheduled during the time of coverage.
• Plans and implements learning experiences to develop literacy, numeracy, language, and problem-solving for 3- to 4-year-olds.
• Maintains safe, healthy learning environment with appropriate adult-child ratios and supervision.
• Supports social and emotional development using positive guidance.
• Interacts with children in a supportive manner.
• Encourages family involvement in Head Start program and builds relationships with families.
• Works with other teacher(s) and center staff.
• Follows all Acelero Learning policies related to health, safety, nutrition, and center operations.
• Reports to work on time and communicates schedule changes to the Center Director and Early Learning/Disabilities Specialist.
• Participates in meetings, events, and training as required.
