Job summary

The Learning Experience is seeking a dedicated Preschool Cook to join our team as an ambassador of happiness. You will prepare nutritious meals for preschool children and ensure allergy safety while maintaining inventory in collaboration with center leadership.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma, 1+ year cooking experience, and the ability to obtain a food handling certificate within 90 days. Ability to lift 25 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of experience in food preparation and cooking.
• Food handling certificate or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook healthy meals for preschool children that meet proper nutritional requirements.
• Maintain and track food allergies for each child and communicate allergies to teachers daily with every food delivery.
• Follow proper food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures to ensure safe storage of food.
• Collaborate with Center Leadership to purchase all necessary food and supplies and maintain inventory records as required by local/state agencies.
• Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward parents and children, listening and communicating effectively.
• Be flexible and adaptable to the daily business needs of a childcare center.
