Job summary

My Healthy Penguin in Rancho Cucamonga is seeking a part-time kitchen team member to support meal-prep operations. Under the direction of the Head Chef, you will perform kitchen duties, ensuring efficiency and compliance in a high-volume banquet setting. Other duties may apply.

We operate a leading meal prep service since 2015 with a focus on health in communities. Shifts include Wed 9:30 AM–3:30 PM, Thu 8 AM–4:30 PM, Fri 8 AM–2 PM, Sat 7 AM–3:30 PM.

Qualifications

• High-volume kitchen experience or willingness to learn in banquet setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with prep team.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in prepping, portioning, and cooking under the Head Chef.
• Executing the flow of prep and cook days.
• High Volume Preparation.
• Ensure proper food handling and storing practices.
• Assist in the preparation of vegetables, proteins, carbs, sauces and garnishes.
• Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment.
• Perform duties of cooks including storage, prep of seasonings and ingredients, washing dishes, operating kettles, pots, pans, grills, ovens.
• Communicate with prep team members for recipes to be executed.
• Push and pull 50 lbs or more and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Participates in shared kitchen cleaning duties such as dishwashing, floors and trash.
