The Prep Cook will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of various ingredients and food items for our many dining outlets across the campus. They will be responsible for ensuring that all items are prepared according to our recipes and standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, and the ability to work both independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Ingredient/Food Preparation:Assist in the preparation of sauces, vegetables, meats, and other ingredients according to recipes and portion sizes.
Knife Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in knife handling and cutting techniques to ensure uniformity and consistency in ingredient preparation.
Food Safety: Always adhere to proper food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
Organization:Keep workstations clean and organized, ensuring that ingredients are properly labeled, stored, and rotated to minimize waste.
Assistance: Collaborate with other kitchen staff members to ensure efficient workflow and timely preparation of prep items for food outlets.
RecipeAdherence: Follow all recipes and portion sizes accurately to always maintain consistency in flavor and presentation of all food items.
Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on ingredients to ensure freshness and quality standards are met.
Inventory Management:Assist in monitoring ingredient inventory levels and communicating any shortages or discrepancies to the kitchen management team.
Multi-tasking:Handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing responsibilities as needed to meet kitchen demands.
Flexibility: Be willing to assist in other areas of the kitchen as needed, including dishwashing, food plating, and cleaning duties.
