Job Summary:

Generations Christian Homeschool is seeking a passionate and dedicated part-time Pre-Kindergarten Teacher on a contract basis to nurture the spiritual, social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of our youngest learners. The ideal candidate will create a loving, safe, and stimulating learning environment where children can grow in their understanding of God's love and the world around them. This role involves implementing developmentally appropriate practices, fostering a love of learning, and partnering with families to support each child's individual journey within our homeschool community. This is a contractor position , and the individual will be responsible for their own liability insurance, tax obligations, and any other relevant contractor responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Instruction and Curriculum:
• Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities aligned with our Christian philosophy and curriculum guidelines.
• Foster a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Introduce basic Christian concepts through Bible stories, songs, prayers, and age-appropriate discussions.
• Develop and implement activities that promote literacy, numeracy, fine and gross motor skills, social-emotional development, and spiritual growth.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including play-based learning, small group instruction, and hands-on activities.
• Assess student progress through observation, informal assessments, and documentation, and communicate findings to parents and relevant staff.
• Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet the diverse needs of individual learners within our homeschool setting.
• Classroom Management:
• Establish and maintain a positive and orderly learning environment conducive to learning and respectful interactions.
• Implement consistent and age-appropriate guidance techniques rooted in Christian principles of love, grace, and discipline.
• Guide children in developing self-control, responsibility, and respect for others and their belongings.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
• Spiritual Formation:
• Integrate Christian values and biblical truths into daily routines and activities.
• Serve as a positive Christian role model through words and actions.
• Lead or participate in age-appropriate devotions, prayer times, and Bible story sharing.
• Help children develop an understanding of God's love, creation, and their place in His world.
• Communication and Collaboration:
• Maintain open and effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns.
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences and other homeschool events as required.
• Collaborate effectively with other teachers, staff, and administrators to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment within our homeschool community.
• Attend staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school-related functions as required.
• Other Duties:
• Assist with arrival and dismissal procedures.
• Supervise children during transitions, outdoor play, and other activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting learning space.
• Adhere to all Generations Christian Homeschool policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications:

• A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian education within a homeschool framework.
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with preschool-aged children.
• Knowledge of child development principles and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team within a homeschool setting.
• A genuine love for young children and a passion for nurturing their growth.
• Must pass a background check.

Work Schedule:

• Part-time, contractor position .
• Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

Compensation:

• This is a contractor position. Compensation will be an hourly rate. The contractor is responsible for their own tax obligations.
