The City of Hazelwood is now accepting applications for a part-time Police Records Clerk.
The part-time Police Records Clerk performs a variety of clerical and administrative tasks in support of the Police Department's records division. This position is responsible for the accurate maintenance, process, and dissemination of police reports and records in accordance with departmental policy and applicable laws and regulations.
Duties Include (but are not limited to):
- Process, file, and retrieve police reports, citations, arrest records, and other related documents
- Respond to public inquiries in person, via phone, or email regarding reports, accident records, or other public information requests
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive police records
- Perform data entry into various law enforcement databases and systems
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and other documents as required
- Receive and process requests for background checks and criminal history information
- Scan, index, and archive records into electronic records management systems
- Coordinate with law enforcement personnel, courts, and other agencies as needed
- Collect fees for reports and issue receipts
- Perform other clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, and mail distribution
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- One (1) year of clerical or administrative experience; experience in a law enforcement or legal setting preferred
- Basic knowledge of Police Software (Omnigo, Care Report, and Rejis)
- Ability to type accurately and efficiently
Special Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a background investigation/Security Clearance
- Must maintain a high level of integrity and trustworthiness
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- $22.05 per hour
- 18-20 hours per week
