Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a part-time PM RN to provide compassionate patient care, applying the nursing process and collaborating with the care team. The role emphasizes health promotion, prevention of illness, and patient education in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
• If job is in a free-standing emergency department (FSED) location, one year of emergency or ICU nursing experience is required.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to care and/or counsel individuals in health promotion and illness prevention.
• Depict systematic critical-thinking to guide data gathering, assessment, and evaluation of patient needs.
• Deliver patient care in collaboration with the patient, family, and health care team under licensed physician, psychologist, podiatrist, or dentist supervision.
