Overview

$20/hour Per Mar Security is seeking qualified candidates for gate Security Officers at a home improvement store. Ideal candidates are comfortable working independently, detail-oriented, and possess basic technology skills, including operating a tablet.

Security Officers serve as protectors of the premises and customer service representatives, escorting vendors and visitors, conducting foot patrols, restricting access as needed, and ensuring overall security. This position is unarmed, with no authorization to carry weapons, ammunition, or protective devices.

Responsibilities

• Stand guard at the gatehouse, direct visitors, and assist customers with instructions.
• Log visitor data using the Menards tablet.
• Conduct foot patrols according to post orders.
• Identify and report potential safety hazards.
• Wear and maintain appropriate PPE, following all policies.
• Follow site-specific duties outlined in post-orders.
• Work additional hours as needed to fill shifts.
• Maintain ethical conduct, act lawfully, honestly, and professionally, and comply with company policies.
• Understand and adhere to attendance expectations.
• Interact respectfully with customers, vendors, colleagues, and management, promoting a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain a State Security Officer License.
• Technical training or college education in a related field (preferred).
• Previous security officer experience (preferred).

Shifts

Part-Time, weekends required.

Additional Duties

• Control access at the gate for incoming and outgoing vehicles.
• Verify the accuracy of orders when customers leave.
• Inspect vehicles entering the premises and note existing items.
• Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or rule infractions.
• Walk the yard twice per shift to report suspicious activities or crimes.
• Address suspicious or criminal behavior.
• Call emergency services for high-risk situations.
