Job summary

Penn State University's College of Medicine, University Fitness Center in Hershey, PA, is seeking a part-time Pilates instructor to deliver specialized Pilates services in the Pilates Studio.

Responsibilities include one-on-one and group training, coordination with physicians, assessments, and promotional tasks. Clearances required: state and federal background checks. A recognized Pilates certification is required; teaching candidates in training are welcome.

Qualifications

• Must have a recognized Pilates comprehensive certification (e.g. Romana's Pilates, Peak Pilates, Authentic Pilates, Power Pilates).
• Instructors-in-training enrolled in a teacher training course are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Providing individualized one-on-one training and duet training sessions.
• Consult and network with physicians or health care providers when needed to prescribe Pilates training for diverse populations, including medically-complicated individuals.
• Complete appropriate assessments applicable to Pilates programming.
• Provide group programming in classes or special interest workshops.
• Represent the Pilates Studio and serve as health educator through health fairs, studio open houses, or other events.
• Assist studio management in developing promotional materials, enforcing policies, and following cleaning/maintenance protocols.
