Job summary

Baystate Health, home to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, is seeking a part-time Patient Care Technician to join the Pediatric ICU team. The role involves direct patient care under RN supervision, including hygiene, mobility, and vital sign monitoring.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and Point of Care testing; assist with procedures, transport, equipment management, and emergency protocols.

Qualifications

• PCT training or CNA training, preferred
• BLS CPR Certification through American Heart Association, required
• High School diploma or GED
• Three or more years of patient care experience (this experience can vary in level of long‑term care, specialty, acute care, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high‑quality care under RN supervision, including hygiene, mobility, and vital sign monitoring.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection and Point of Care testing; assist with procedures, patient transport, equipment management, and emergency protocols.
• Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and a commitment to patient safety.
