Job summary

Liberty University School of Music is seeking a part-time, on-site student worker to assist in tuning and maintaining pianos, supporting practice rooms, classes, ensembles, concerts, and recitals.

The role requires 12-18 hours per week, with weekly tuning duties, minor mechanical repairs, and careful record-keeping. You will interact with professors and students and uphold university policies and Christian mission.

Qualifications

• Above-average pitch perception required.
• Must be teachable and able to follow directions.
• Music majors or piano players preferred.
• Must be detail oriented and able to keep records and document work.

Responsibilities

• Assist Piano Technician with regular tuning and maintenance of School of Music pianos.
• Perform regular weekly tuning with pin setting and electronic master tuning device.
• Identify and address minor mechanical issues such as sticking keys, buzzing strings, and loose pedals.
• Clean and maintain internal components of pianos including soundboards, pins, and strings.
• Provide excellent customer service to professors and students of the School of Music.
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, professors, and students in written and spoken form.
