Southwest Tennessee Community College seeks an Adjunct Faculty member in Physics for a part-time role in the Natural Sciences Department. Pay is $640 per credit hour. Courses may be day, evening, or weekend across SWTCC campuses.

Positions are posted continuously and re-applied each year as openings arise. Responsibilities include delivering instruction, evaluating student work, maintaining FERPA-compliant records, and contributing to curriculum development.

Qualifications

• 18 graduate semester hours in Physics plus a Master's degree or a Master's degree with a major in Physics.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers instruction on the topics related to Physics.
• Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers fairly and consistently.
• Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
• Maintains office hours for students seeking academic advice, assists in student recruitment and retention; and assists students with course-related problems outside of the classroom.
• Maintains accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records in compliance with FERPA.
• Attends faculty meetings and professional development activities.
• Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature and participating in conferences.
• Participates in committees and provides outreach service to the community.
