Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a Part-Time Physician (M.D. or D.O.) for Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility in Ypsilanti, Michigan. No nights, weekends, or holidays, with a strong emphasis on work-life balance and team support.

The Staff Physician will work under the Site Medical Director, delivering high-quality healthcare and taking a lead role in patient care within the facility’s medical team.

Qualifications

• Active medical license in Michigan.
• Current DEA registration.
• Board certified and eligible to practice medicine in Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Maintains medical records using SOAP format, timely, legible, and signed.
• Countersigns verbal/telephone orders within 72 hours.
• Adheres to formulary before using non-formulary medications.
• Provides on-site emergency care and responds to urgent situations.
• Leads or participates in staff education and monthly quality reviews.
• Sponsors Physician Assistants as required.
