Rothman Orthopaedics seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to support our Glen Mills Walk-in Clinic, part-time, in Glen Mills, PA 19342, with travel to King of Prussia for coverage. The APP collaborates with physicians to evaluate and treat acute orthopaedic or postoperative patients, assists during office hours, and documents medical necessity and patient instructions.

Qualified candidates hold a Master’s degree, PA/NP licensure in PA, and CPR certification; salary ranges from $60,000

• Completed an accredited Advanced Practice Provider program.
• Active Pennsylvania PA or NP licensure and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician during office hours, in satellite offices, and during hospital rounds.
• Provides coverage with evaluation, treatment, and documentation of orthopaedic care.
• Participates in orthopaedic educational activities for hospital staff.
• Assists with preoperative and postoperative instructions and discharge planning.
• Documents encounters and handles required forms (workmans' comp. and disability as needed).
• Communicates care plans to patients and families; coordinates with homecare teams.

Level: Experienced, Job Location: RO Glen Mills - Glen Mills, PA 19342, Position Type: Part Time, Education Level: Masters Degree, Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 Salary/year, Travel Percentage: Up to 25%, Job Shift: Day Shift, Job Category: Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner, Rothman Orthopaedics is looking to hire a part time Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to support our Glen Mills Walk in Clinic! This position will require travel to our office in King of Prussia for coverage purposes.

Schedule:

Mon-tue-Fri 8 AM to 4:30 PM (24 hours per week!)

Job Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider supports the physician in evaluating and treating patients with acute orthopaedic or postoperative problems in the office environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assists physician during office hours, in satellite offices, and during hospital rounds to assure timely flow of patients. Participates in all aspects of patient care.
• Provides coverage with evaluation, treatment, and documentation of service for patients requiring orthopaedic care.
• Participates in and contributes to orthopaedic educational activities for hospital nursing and physical therapy staff.
• Assists physician during office hours including preoperative and postoperative instructions.
• Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding treatment instructions and medications.
• Dictates and documents all patient encounters. Dictates Medical Necessity letters. Completes forms for Workmans Comp. and Disability.
• Discusses patient care and necessary home equipment with Homecare Nurse.
• Prepares discharge letters and make post-op calls to referring physicians.
• Reviews charts preoperatively and document any pertinent information.
• Rotates with residents and fellow nurses and PAs covering the RI on-call schedules.
• Writes, faxes and/or phones in prescriptions for patients.
• Liaisons between RI physician and outside consulting physicians regarding patient care.
• Assists physician during hospital rounds with post-op patients and with research as needed.
• Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.

Qualifications:

• Successful completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Provider Program
• Active Pennsylvania Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure and active CPR certification
