Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking an Exercise Technician to support the Physical Therapy Department at the Smyrna Outpatient Rehabilitation Site in Smyrna, Delaware, working approximately 20 to 25 hours per week. Primary duties include assisting the therapist with treatment preparation, preparing equipment, and handling basic clerical tasks such as scheduling and patient transport. The schedule includes Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:00 p.m.

to 6:30 p.m. and Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 10:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Preferred enrollment in a pre-PT program at an accredited university.
• Previous experience in a physical therapy setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the therapist in treatment preparation for group or individual sessions.
• Maintains the work area in a neat and orderly fashion; cleans and prepares equipment.
• Assists with clerical duties: answering phones, scheduling patient appointments and transportation, scanning, filing, faxing, and communication with referral resources.
• Maintains inventory of patient supplies and equipment.
• Assists therapists in medical equipment ordering.
• Monitors patient flow within the department; may assist with patient transport and community outings.

Education

High School graduate or equivalent

Currently enrolled in a pre-PT program through an accredited University is preferred

Previous experience working or volunteering in a Physical Therapy setting is preferred
