• Possession of a valid credential which authorizes full-time teaching of physical science at the California Community College level.
• Equivalent qualifications recognized via equivalency process and proper documentation.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse backgrounds of community college students.
• Degrees/credits from accredited institutions and evaluation of foreign degrees as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in a full range of Physical Science courses, including Physics, Earth Sciences, and Astronomy.
• Teach at other campus sites or via day/evening/weekend classes and distance learning; use multiple teaching modalities.
• Participate in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs; maintain currency; develop and revise curriculum; use computer and multimedia technology.
• Engage in departmental and college-level professional activities and collaborate with colleagues.
