Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in North Bergen, NJ is seeking a Phlebotomist I for a part-time schedule, Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM. You will collect specimens, perform routine phlebotomy tasks, and support test ordering and data entry.

The role requires a high school diploma with phlebotomy experience preferred; certification is helpful. Strong English communication and customer service skills are important in a busy lab setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (CA, NV, WA required).
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Obtain identification, enter billing information and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties including inventory and sanitizing.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submission.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs timely (maintenance and temperature logs).
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
