Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Phlebotomist II for a part-time schedule (Tue/Wed/Thu 8:00 AM–6:00 PM with rotating Saturdays). You will collect specimens, prepare samples, and enter patient data in our lab systems, supporting efficient patient care in a busy clinical setting.

Requires three years phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections, plus keyboard/data entry skills.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify all orders using lab systems and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information and collect payments when required, following policies.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties including inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and email use.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and complete training timely.
