Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Pasco, WA is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to support donor screening and plasmapheresis operations. You will greet donors, perform venipuncture, monitor during donation, and manage equipment setup and troubleshooting with training provided.

The role requires mobility, ability to work evenings/weekends/holidays, and adherence to glove-wearing and safety protocols. Training is paid and designed to fit a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
• Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
• Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
• Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
• 90% of tasks require prolonged glove wear due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1).
• 1 or more years minimum experience working in a customer or patient facing role is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
• Perform venipuncture of donors and programming of plasmapheresis machine.
• Monitor donors during the donation process and manage donor reactions.
• Setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment within scope of training.
• Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on the plasmapheresis machines.
• Stock supplies and assist with proper disposal.
• Record donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature; monitor electronic donor questionnaire system.
• Record donor measures (hematocrit, total protein, weight) and enter into DIS.
• Coordinate donors to donor floor and compensate using the Debit Card system.
• Support center management in identifying operational opportunities for continuous improvement (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen).
