Job summary

Family Health Centers, Inc. seeks a Part-Time Pharmacist to provide safe, accurate, and patient-centered pharmacy services in line with HRSA Health Center Program requirements and state/federal laws.

You will collaborate with providers and the care team to optimize medication therapy and support quality initiatives. The role emphasizes counseling, adherence support, MTM, and compassionate care, with focus on accessibility and culturally responsive service in a Federally Qualified Health Center

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from ACPE-accredited school.
  • Knowledge of federal and state pharmacy regulations, including controlled substances.
  • Proficiency with EHR, pharmacy management systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescription medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide patient counseling on medication use, side effects, adherence, and disease management.
  • Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to optimize medication therapy.
  • Conduct Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMRs) and Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services as assigned.
  • Assist patients with medication access, affordability, and adherence programs.
  • Maintain accurate patient medication records in the electronic health record and pharmacy management system.
  • Process prescription claims and support third-party insurance billing.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure proper storage and disposal of pharmaceuticals.
  • Deliver compliant, secure handling of controlled substances per DEA and SC Board regulations.
  • Support HRSA, HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable regulations.

  • Base Pay $50.00 - $65.87 / Hour

  • Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescription medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.

  • Evaluate prescriptions for allergies, drug interactions, contraindications, and appropriate therapy.

  • Provide patient counseling on medication use, side effects, adherence, and disease management.

  • Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to optimize medication therapy.

  • Conduct Comprehensive Medication Reviews (CMRs), Medication Therapy Management (MTM), and other clinical pharmacy services as assigned.

  • Assist patients with medication access, affordability, and adherence programs.

  • Maintain accurate patient medication records in the electronic health record and pharmacy management system.

  • Process prescription claims and support third-party insurance billing.

  • Maintain inventory, monitor medication expiration dates, and ensure proper storage and disposal of pharmaceuticals.

  • Maintain accountability and security of controlled substances in compliance with DEA and South Carolina Board of Pharmacy regulations.

  • Support compliance with the 340B Drug Pricing Program and organizational pharmacy policies.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, medication safety activities, and pharmacy audits.

  • Ensure compliance with HRSA, HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable federal, state, and organizational regulations.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality and promoting culturally responsive care.

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the Federally Qualified Health Center.


Requirements



  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy.

  • Current immunization certification (or ability to obtain if required by organizational policy).

  • Knowledge of federal and state pharmacy regulations, including controlled substance requirements.

  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), pharmacy management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.


Preferred



  • Two (2) years of retail, ambulatory care, community health center, or outpatient pharmacy experience.

  • Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center, 340B pharmacy program, or integrated care setting.

  • Medication Therapy Management (MTM) experience.

  • Bilingual abilities are preferred.

The Part-Time Pharmacist provides safe, accurate, and patient-centered pharmacy services in accordance with federal and state laws, HRSA Health Center Program requirements, South Carolina Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA regulations, and organizational policies. The pharmacist collaborates with providers and other members of the healthcare team to optimize medication therapy, improve patient outcomes, promote medication adherence, and support quality improvement initiatives.
