Pharmacy Technician II

Position Summary:

Provide world-class customer service in stores as a Pharmacy Technician II, striving to satisfy every customer's needs by exceeding expectations and making each shopping visit enjoyable and remarkable. Treat customers and employees ethically and respectfully, promoting an inclusive, efficient work environment. Emphasize safety and accuracy when handling patient needs as a responsible community member.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Assist store leaders and associates in delivering a positive customer shopping experience and uphold Harris Teeter’s reputation for excellent service.
  2. Demonstrate a commitment to making all customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
  3. Accurately and efficiently enter and process patients’ information and transactions.
  4. Count, measure, and prepare products according to laws, regulations, policies, and ethics standards.
  5. Follow staging procedures appropriately.
  6. Maintain records and reports related to pharmacy functions, volume, and sales.
  7. Perform post-fill audits to verify prescription information against computer records.
  8. Follow company guidelines regarding registers, payments, and transactions.
  9. Display a positive attitude during interactions.
  10. Inspect pharmacy equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
  11. Adhere to safety programs and procedures.
  12. Report illegal activities such as robbery, theft, or fraud.
  13. Assist pharmacists in all responsibilities except those requiring a licensed pharmacist’s judgment.
  14. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  15. Maintain a respectful business image in dress, demeanor, and attitude; never be rude to patients or customers.
  16. Assist in data entry, inventory, stocking, dispensing, reporting, and sales of prescriptions.
  17. Keep the pharmacy and related areas clean and organized.
  18. Comply with laws regarding pharmacy operations and sales.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience preferred.
  • National Certification must be obtained within 21 months if enrolled in the National Standards Training Program, or within 9 months if enrolled in PTU 101.
  • Complete all required training, including new hire orientation, customer service, safety, and pharmacy technician programs.
